Let’s Celebrate The Finish Of Draft One

Last night, I have finished the first draft of my first novel–Keeper’s Legend (working title)!

WordcountIsn’t that exciting?

I think it is. This is the biggest project I have ever started AND finished–at least up to a point where it would feel comfortable talking about it. I’m aware that there’s still a lot more work to be done when it comes to editing and straightening out the narrative and plot, but the basic structure stands, I allow myself to be proud.

Keeper’s Legend (#1 — Adam Masters)

Bound to do the bidding of the Underworld as its Champion, Adam struggles to maintain his humanity while on his mission to collect the souls of those that sold themselves to demonic powers. But when his rebellion against his own masters threatens to awaken an even older power, and one particular ghost refuses to stay dead-dead, Adam has to make a choice to either stand against this ancient evil as the Champion he’s destined to be, or let the world be consumed by the fires of hell itself.

So.

What’s next?

I would like to let the manuscript simmer for a bit. I’ve been staring at it for months now, and I just need a break from it. Editing is one of the hardest things for me to do, because my eyes can’t catch all the little things (missing letters/words, for example), especially if I’m looking at the same blob of words over and over again.

And while I’ll take a break from this book to focus on other ideas (including The Honeymoon), I would love to find a handful of willing test-readers for the current draft. Sure, it might not be grammatically perfect, matter of fact I know it isn’t for reasons I just mentioned, but I would like to get some feedback on it from people not afraid to A) fight through a potential mess and B) can be honest about their opinions.

To that end, I’m offering an exclusive look at the first eight chapters to anyone pledging even one dollar to my Patreon Campaign, and if anyone wants to continue reading it from there, they’re welcome to. I will also offer the final book for free to anyone supporting me on Patreon, so please consider checking it out and pledging even as little $1 for my work.

Not sure whether you should consider supporting me? Read the intro and the first chapter for free, right here, as either epub, mobi, or pdf.

I will open up a “public beta” later this year, depending on how fast the current stage will progress. So stay tuned.

And please share my excitement with your friends, consider donating to my Patreon, and tell me what you think about my work!
