Writer Emergency Fiasco: Rat Trap

A long while ago, I did this thing. I took the TTRPG Fiasco to create a cast of characters and the things that matter to them and their relationships, and then combined that with a deck of cards called Writer Emergency Pack.

A writing exercise that played out over 12 weeks–one character scene per week, sandwiched between drawing and discussing the card and how it could influence the scene, and a post script that goes over how all it actually shook out for the scene.

The end result was a novella titled “Honeymoon.” A fun, little fiasco of three friends, a wedding, and a bag of cocaine.

Recently, I did it again. I did another Writer Emergency Fiasco, using the new Writer Emergency Pack XL–more and bigger cards for more and bigger inspiration. Well, as of writing this post, I’m not quite done with it, yet. But it’s getting closer.

Since the project is based on Fiasco, and Fiasco is a TTRPG, I posted about it weekly over on the new blog, which focuses on tabletop games and such.

Anyways, just wanted to cross post about, and link, it. So here it is. Enjoy.
